16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, the State Government Affairs Council (SGAC) was established fifty years |

17 | 17 | | ago with the mission to advance and support the state government affairs profession by |
---|
18 | 18 | | fostering community and relationships with peers and elected officials, building knowledge, and |
---|
19 | 19 | | promoting diverse perspectives in a nonpartisan environment; and |
---|
20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, SGAC's memb ers, consisting of government affairs professionals, have |
---|
21 | 21 | | consistently worked to enhance understanding and communication between the public and |
---|
22 | 22 | | private sectors, ensuring the fair representation of diverse interests and advocating for the |
---|
23 | 23 | | advancement of policies that promote the offering of unparalleled educational opportunities; |
---|
24 | 24 | | providing a forum for members and policymakers to convene and collaborate; mentoring the |
---|
25 | 25 | | next generation of state government affairs professionals; and promoting all aspects of diversity; |

27 | 27 | | WHEREAS, through its collaboration with legislative bodies, administrative agencies, |

28 | 28 | | and community stakeholders, SGAC has helped build a more responsive, transparent, and |

29 | 29 | | accountable government at the state level; and |

30 | 30 | | WHEREAS, SGAC has cultivated a forward-thinking platform for addressing emerging |

31 | 31 | | challenges in state governance; and |

32 | 32 | | WHEREAS, SGAC has created a legacy of fostering leadership, training, and advocacy |

33 | 33 | | that has shaped the professional development of thousands of individuals in the field of |

43 | 43 | | WHEREAS, the fiftieth anniversary of SGAC represents a milestone of achievement and |

44 | 44 | | service in its ongoing commitment to excellence in government affairs; and |

45 | 45 | | WHEREAS, it is most appropriate that the members of this General Assembly should |

46 | 46 | | specially recognize the State Government Affairs Council on this historic occasion; now, |

48 | 48 | | BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTEENTH |

49 | 49 | | GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, THE HOUSE OF |

50 | 50 | | REPRESENTATIVES CONCURRING, that we hereby honor and commend the State |

51 | 51 | | Government Affairs Council on the occasion of its fiftieth anniversary, commending its |
---|
52 | 52 | | membership, both past and present, on five decades of service to the State of Tennessee and |
---|
53 | 53 | | acknowledging its enduring influence on the State's government affairs landscape. |

54 | 54 | | BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that an appropriate copy of this resolution be prepared |

55 | 55 | | for presentation with this final clause omitted from such copy and upon proper request made to |

56 | 56 | | the appropriate clerk, the language appearing immediately following the State seal appear |
