1212 A RESOLUTION to honor and recognize Lily Pope, 2025
1313 Valedictorian of Wayne County High School.

1515 WHEREAS, it is fitting that the members of this General Assembly should pause to pay
1616 tribute to those students who, through their natural talents and unflagging commitment to
1717 academic excellence, have distinguished themselves in the classroom; and
1818 WHEREAS, Lily Faith Pope is one such exceptional student, who was recently named
1919 the Valedictorian of the 2025 graduating class at Wayne County High School; and
2020 WHEREAS, through diligent study, steady composure during examinations, and
2121 steadfast commitment of time and talent, Ms. Pope has achieved outstanding academic
2222 success and joined the ranks of the best and brightest students in Tennessee and our country;
2323 and
2424 WHEREAS, in her remarkable high school career, Lily Pope has earned an exemplary
2525 99.696 grade point average while participating in numerous extracurricular activities, including
2626 the Math Club, Interact, and Wildcat Den, as well as serving as president of the Beta Club and
2727 vice president of FFA, acting as a Wildcat Ambassador, and being voted Most Intelligent by her
2828 peers; and
2929 WHEREAS, Ms. Pope will graduate with honors, distinction, and work ethics distinction
3030 and as a Wayne County Volunteer Scholar, accolades that all point to her outstanding character
3131 and academic abilities; and
3232 WHEREAS, her display of intellectual aptitude and ambition surely bodes well for her
3333 future success as a student at the University of Tennessee at Martin, where she will study
3434 animal science or some other subject in the natural science and geoscience fields; and
3535 WHEREAS, Lily Pope's noteworthy achievement is a tremendous source of pride for her
3636 parents, Bart and Amy Pope, her family, her school, and her community; and

4141 WHEREAS, Ms. Pope's dedication to excellence is clearly deserving of the respect,
4242 admiration, and commendation of this General Assembly; now, therefore,
4343 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTEENTH
4444 GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, T HE HOUSE OF
4545 REPRESENTATIVES CONCURRING, that we hereby commend and honor Lily Faith Pope of
4646 Wayne County High School on being named the 2025 Valedictorian, salute her impressive
4747 academic achievement, and extend to her our best wishes for a happy, successful future.
4848 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that an appropriate copy of this resolution be prepared
4949 for presentation with this final clause omitted from such copy and upon proper request made to
5050 the appropriate clerk, the language appearing immediately following the State seal appear
