1212 A RESOLUTION to honor and recognize Maya Johnston, 2025
1313 Salutatorian of McNairy Central High School.

1515 WHEREAS, it is fitting that the members of this General Assembly should pause to pay
1616 tribute to those students who, through their natural talents and unflagging commitment to
1717 academic excellence, have distinguished themselves in the classroom; and
1818 WHEREAS, Maya Johnston is one such exceptional student, who was recently named
1919 Salutatorian of the 2025 graduating class at McNairy Central High School; and
2020 WHEREAS, through diligent study, steady composure during examinations, and
2121 steadfast commitment of time and talent, Maya Johnston has achieved outstanding academic
2222 success and joined the ranks of the best and brightest students in Tennessee and our country;
2323 and
2424 WHEREAS, her display of intellectual aptitude and ambition surely bodes well for her
2525 future success; and
2626 WHEREAS, Ms. Johnston's noteworthy achievement is a tremendous source of pride for
2727 her family, her school, and her community; and
2828 WHEREAS, Maya Johnston's dedication to excellence is clearly deserving of the
2929 respect, admiration, and commendation of the members of this General Assembly; now,

3131 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTE ENTH
3232 GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, THE HOUSE OF
3333 REPRESENTATIVES CONCURRING, that we hereby commend and honor the 2025 McNairy
3434 Central High School Salutatorian, Maya Johnston, on her impressive academic achievement
3535 and extend to her our best wishes for a happy, successful future.

4040 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that an appropriate copy of this resolution be prepared
4141 for presentation with this final clause omitted from such copy and upon proper request made to
