1212 A RESOLUTION to recognize and commend Cumberland Medical
1313 Center on the occasion of its seventy-fifth
1414 anniversary.

1616 WHEREAS, it is our privilege to recognize those premier medical facilities that have
1717 compassionately and capably served the citizens of this State for generations; and
1818 WHEREAS, one such entity is Cumberland Medical Center in Crossville, which recently
1919 celebrated its seventy-fifth anniversary, marking seven and one-half decades of providing the
2020 highest-quality health care to all who cross its threshold; and
2121 WHEREAS, established in 1950, Cumberland Medical Center traces its beginnings back
2222 to the efforts of pioneering physician Dr. May Cravath Wharton; and
2323 WHEREAS, a member of Covenant Health, Cumberland Medical Center is an acute
2424 care hospital, offering state-of-the-art technology, private patient rooms, and specialized
2525 services not usually found in rural medical systems; and
2626 WHEREAS, for the last seventy-five years, Cumberland Medical Center has served the
2727 Cumberland Plateau area with compassionate care that has been essential to the region's
2828 growth and the well-being of its citizens; now, therefore,
2929 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTEENTH
3030 GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STA TE OF TENNESSEE, THE HOUSE OF
3131 REPRESENTATIVES CONCURRING, that we honor and commend Cumberland Medical
3232 Center for seventy-five years of compassionate, dedicated service to the people of the
3333 Cumberland Plateau and this State, extending our best wishes for the institution's continued
3434 success in the future.

3939 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that an appropriate copy of this resolution be prepared
4040 for presentation with this final clause omitted from such copy and upon proper request made to
4141 the appropriate clerk, the language appearing immediately following the State seal appear
4242 without House or Senate designation.
