A RESOLUTION to honor and commend Dean Holmen and The 
Music City Hayride.  
 
 WHEREAS, the members of this General Assembly take great pride in recognizing those 
individuals and organizations that enhance the cultural vibrancy and heritage of our State; and 
 WHEREAS, in 2007, esteemed traditional country artists Dean Holmen and J.K. Coltrain 
united their talents to create a touring show dedicated to preserving the legacy of traditional 
country music; and 
 WHEREAS, inspired by the legendary Camel Country Caravan, the show initially 
debuted as The Country Caravan; by 2010, Allen Karl, Leon Seiter, and Joe Berry joined forces 
with Mr. Holmen and Mr. Coltrain, together forging The Traditional Country Opry, a showcase of 
timeless country music; and 
 WHEREAS, after performing numerous shows across the United States, in 2013, the 
members of The Traditional Country Opry sought to establish a permanent home for their 
performances, leading to the creation of The Music City Hayride; and 
 WHEREAS, The Music City Hayride blends the spirit of family-friendly entertainment with 
the charm of classic shows like The Louisiana Hayride and Hee Haw, offering an enjoyable 
experience for all ages; and 
 WHEREAS, The Music City Hayride provides a platform for both established and 
emerging country music artists, fostering the growth and appreciation of traditional country 
music; and 
 WHEREAS, Dean Holmen's commitment to preserving Tennessee's musical roots has 
brought the rich heritage of our State to audiences near and far, reminding us of the timeless 
power of storytelling through song; and

 WHEREAS, it is fitting that we recognize the outstanding contributions of Dean Holmen 
and The Music City Hayride to the cultural landscape of Tennessee; now, therefore, 
 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTEENTH 
GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, THE HOUSE OF 
REPRESENTATIVES CONCURRING, that we honor and commend Dean Holmen for his work 
in founding and sustaining the Music City Hayride, applaud his dedication to preserving and 
promoting traditional country music, and extend our best wishes for the show's continued 
success. 
 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that an appropriate copy of this resolution be prepared 
for presentation with this final clause omitted from such copy and upon proper request made to 
the appropriate clerk, the language appearing immediately following the State seal appear 
without House or Senate designation.
