19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, on January 22, 2025, Josselin Corea Escalante lost her life to a senseless |

20 | 20 | | act of violence in a shooting at Antioch High School; and |

21 | 21 | | WHEREAS, two of her classmates were also injured in the attack; and |

22 | 22 | | WHEREAS, a native of Guatemala and a beloved daughter, sister, niece, and friend, |

23 | 23 | | Josselin Corea Escalante was a bright sixteen-year-old young woman who played soccer and |
---|
24 | 24 | | dreamed of becoming a doctor; and |

25 | 25 | | WHEREAS, although her life was all too brief, Josselin lived her life with compassion, |

26 | 26 | | courage, and enthusiasm, and she will be forever missed by everyone who knew and loved her; |

28 | 28 | | WHEREAS, the greater Nashville community and the State of Tennessee mourn the |

29 | 29 | | heartbreaking loss of Ms. Escalante's life and acknowledge the grief of all those impacted by the |

31 | 31 | | BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTEENTH |
