A RESOLUTION to commend Abagael Hicks, Lieutenant
Governor of the 2025 Intern Mock Session.
WHEREAS, each legislative session, we are pleased to welcome a select group of
students who commit themselves, through their adroit service, to the betterment of the
legislative process as legislative interns; and
WHEREAS, annually, during each session of the General Assembly, the intern class
holds a mock legislative session and elects from among their membership a governor, a
lieutenant governor, a speaker of the house, a majority leader, and a minority leader; and
WHEREAS, Abagael Hicks, a student at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, was
elected Lieutenant Governor of the 2025 Intern Mock Session for the first regular session of the

Tennessee General Assembly; and
WHEREAS, during this legislative session, Ms. Hicks has served with distinction in her
role as a legislative intern for Senator Richard Briggs; and
WHEREAS, Abagael Hicks's commitment to excellence is clearly deserving of the
respect, admiration, and commendation of this General Assembly; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTEENTH
GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, THE HOUSE OF
REPRESENTATIVES CONCURRING, that we hereby honor Abagael Hicks on her election as
Lieutenant Governor of the 2025 Intern Mock Session and extend to her our best wishes for
every future success.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that an appropriate copy of this resolution be prepared
for presentation with this final clause omitted from such copy and upon proper request made to

the appropriate clerk, the language appearing immediately following the State seal appear
without House or Senate designation.
