12	12	A RESOLUTION to honor the memory of David Roy Baldwin.

14	14	WHEREAS, we were greatly saddened to learn of the passing of David Roy Baldwin, a
15	15	painter, craftsman, religious leader, humble servant of God, and faithful friend; and
16	16	WHEREAS, born in Libertyville, Illinois, on October 6, 1953, to Roy Genus Baldwin and
17	17	Genevieve Visina Baldwin, David Baldwin was a skilled artist whose unique talent and
18	18	perspective allowed him to work professionally in the field, and in whatever endeavor he chose
19	19	to pursue, he carried it out with his characteristic precision and poise; and
20	20	WHEREAS, preeminently defined by his life of prayer and service to God, Mr. Baldwin
21	21	was a passionate disciple of Christ who dedicated his life to ministering to those in prisons and
22	22	nursing homes after his ordination at Regeneration Nations; and
23	23	WHEREAS, Mr. Baldwin was a prominent figure in local politics, chairing the Republican
24	24	Party in Trousdale County for twelve years and serving on the Trousdale County Election
25	25	Commission, and through his continuous efforts, he helped to flip the county to the Grand Ole
26	26	Party for the first time, consequently introducing meaningful change in legislation and election
27	27	integrity; and
28	28	WHEREAS, apart from his work in realms sacred and civic, he was a devoted babysitter
29	29	of his grandchildren, a disaster relief volunteer, and an event coordinator, roles that witnessed
30	30	both his expansive competency and his ever-present compassion; and
31	31	WHEREAS, Mr. Baldwin enjoyed the refined leisure of outdoorsmanship, whether he
32	32	was hunting or fishing, and his special bond with his German Shepherd, Sarge, was a profound
33	33	treasure; and

38	38	WHEREAS, in addition to his good work in ministry and beyond, Mr. Baldwin was wholly
39	39	devoted to his family and friends, and he is still cherished and remembered by his three sisters,
40	40	Carol (Jim), Judy, and Janet; his beloved wife of forty years, Cheryl Klein Baldwin; his children,
41	41	Ali (Bill) Koester, Elizabeth (Joseph) Combs, Nathan (Holly) Baldwin, Matthew (Lindsay)
42	42	Baldwin, Anna (John) Herd, Samuel (Katherine) Baldwin, Sarah Baldwin, Rebekah (Joseph)
43	43	McCall, Zechariah Baldwin, and Clara Baldwin; and his grandchildren, Jane, Ryland, Manning,
44	44	Joseph, Kielei, Paisley, Austin, Logan, Cassidy, Callum, Isla, Kinsley, Dolly, Jackson, and Blair;

46	46	WHEREAS, he was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Joseph Baldwin;

48	48	WHEREAS, Mr. Baldwin served his faith and his community with distinction for more
49	49	than seven decades, and he should be remembered for his many contributions and the example
50	50	he set for others; now, therefore,
51	51	BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTEENTH
52	52	GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, THE HOUSE OF
53	53	REPRESENTATIVES CONCURRING, that we honor the memory of David Roy Ba ldwin,
54	54	reflecting fondly upon his resolute service to God and humanity, and extend our sympathy and
55	55	condolences to his family and many friends.
56	56	BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that an appropriate copy of this resolution be prepared
57	57	for presentation with this final clause omitted from such copy and upon proper request made to
58	58	the appropriate clerk, the language appearing immediately following the State seal appear
59	59	without House or Senate designation.
