16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) team has won the |

17 | 17 | | 2024 Southeast Roadeo, thus claiming its tenth championship out of the seventeen Roadeos |

18 | 18 | | held since 2006; and |

19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, the Southeast Roadeo features leading equipment operators from eleven |
---|
20 | 20 | | states, who compete against each other on a course designed to test their skills in operating the |
---|
21 | 21 | | following equipment: backhoe, single axle dump truck, tandem axle dump truck, skid steer, |
---|
22 | 22 | | lowboy, tractor mower, and motor grader; and |
---|
23 | 23 | | WHEREAS, focusing on efficiency and skill, the Southeast Roadeo provides operators |
---|
24 | 24 | | with the opportunity to display their mastery of vehicles, trailers, and heavy equipment; evaluate |
---|
25 | 25 | | their strengths and challenges; improve their techniques; and learn new skills, while engaging in |
---|
26 | 26 | | friendly competition; and |
---|
27 | 27 | | WHEREAS, the Roadeo also helps build relationships and trust among operators; these |
---|
28 | 28 | | relationships are invaluable when operators from across the State come together to work as a |
---|
29 | 29 | | team during emergency conditions and disaster-related situations; and |
---|
30 | 30 | | WHEREAS, the TDOT team won the State's tenth Southeast Roadeo by taking first and |

31 | 31 | | second place in the skid steer category and first and second place in the single axle dump truck |

33 | 33 | | WHEREAS, the members of TDOT's 2024 Southeast Roadeo championship team are |
