20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, the U.S. Army Reserve will celebrate its 117 |

23 | 23 | | commemorating its establishment and more than a century of building and delivering combat- |

24 | 24 | | ready soldiers and formations when the nation calls; and |

25 | 25 | | WHEREAS, in an increasingly complex global environment, today's Army Reserve is a |
---|
26 | 26 | | critical component in supporting and sustaining the Army as it responds to acute threats from |
---|
27 | 27 | | across the globe; and |
---|
28 | 28 | | WHEREAS, the Army provides the bulk of sustainment forces to the Joint fight, and the |
---|
29 | 29 | | bulk of these capabilities reside in the Army Reserve, which means the Joint force cannot |
---|
30 | 30 | | deploy, fight, and win without the Army Reserve; and |

31 | 31 | | WHEREAS, the Army Reserve stands ready to answer the call, providing critical |

32 | 32 | | capabilities and ensuring the Army's readiness for every mission, helping the force meet any |

34 | 34 | | WHEREAS, Army Reserve soldiers balance civilian life and military readiness, |

45 | 45 | | WHEREAS, throughout the last 117 years since the inception of a federal reserve force, |

46 | 46 | | citizen-soldiers have aided the Army and saved lives, proving that Army Reserve Soldiers |

48 | 48 | | WHEREAS, it is most fitting that we pause to reflect on the important contributions and |

49 | 49 | | sacrifices of those who have served in the United States Army Reserve since its founding; now, |
