12	12	A RESOLUTION to recognize Terry Carroll of the Tennessee
13	13	State Employees Association on the occasion of
14	14	his retirement.

16	16	WHEREAS, it is appropriate that we should honor those citizens who have performed
17	17	with uncommon devotion and enthusiasm throughout their years of industry; and
18	18	WHEREAS, Terry Carroll is one such estimable person who served with distinction as
19	19	the Deputy Executive Director of the Tennessee State Employees Association (TSEA) and took
20	20	his much-deserved retirement on December 31, 2023; and
21	21	WHEREAS, Mr. Carroll began his illustrious career with TSEA on August 24, 1992,
22	22	serving as the West Tennessee Field Representative for the organization, a post he held until
23	23	January 1995; and
24	24	WHEREAS, in 1995, he was named Middle Tennessee Field Representative and held
25	25	that position for the next twenty years before being named the Employee Compensation and
26	26	Benefits Coordinator in September 2015; and
27	27	WHEREAS, in January 2019, Mr. Carroll was named Government Affairs Director for
28	28	TSEA, in which capacity he displayed his dedication to state employees and his unwavering
29	29	belief in their work and in TSEA's mission; and
30	30	WHEREAS, during his years with TSEA, he won the respect and admiration of state
31	31	employees across the State of Tennessee, who appreciated his visionary leadership on behalf
32	32	of all TSEA members; and
33	33	WHEREAS, Mr. Carroll demonstrated his commitment to TSEA by continuing to lend his
34	34	time and talents to the organization's representatives at the State Capitol for nearly a year after
35	35	taking his retirement; and

40	40	WHEREAS, Terry Carroll is an active and important part of his community and served as
41	41	the judge's chair for the Miss Austin Peay and Miss Queen City pageants in Clarksville, ensuring
42	42	that the judges experienced Southern hospitality during the events; and
43	43	WHEREAS, hailing from beautiful West Tennessee, Mr. Carroll grew up following the
44	44	Miss Tennessee pageant in Jackson, and his knowledge of talent winners and those crowned
45	45	Miss Tennessee is legendary; and
46	46	WHEREAS, he is enjoying his retirement by pursuing his love of travel, having visited
47	47	the United Kingdom, France, Italy, Austria, the Slovak Republic, Aruba, Canada, Germany,
48	48	Belgium, Scotland, and France; and
49	49	WHEREAS, Terry Carroll exemplifies the spirit and allegiance to family and community
50	50	that are characteristic of a true Tennessean; and
51	51	WHEREAS, throughout his estimable career, Terry Carroll demonstrated the utmost
52	52	professionalism, ability, and integrity, winning the unbridled respect and admiration of his
53	53	colleagues and the members of the Tennessee State Employees Association; now, therefore,
54	54	BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTEENTH
55	55	GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, THE HOUSE OF
56	56	REPRESENTATIVES CONCURRING, that we extend to Terry Carroll our heartfelt wishes for a
57	57	happy and fulfilling retirement and every continued success in his future endeavors.
58	58	BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that an appropriate copy of this resolution be prepared
59	59	for presentation with this final clause omitted from such copy and upon proper request made to
60	60	the appropriate clerk, the language appearing immediately following the State seal appear
61	61	without House or Senate designation.
