12	12	A RESOLUTION to commend Cleveland Buchanan Wilson for
13	13	exemplary service as a legislative intern.

15	15	WHEREAS, each legislative session, this body is pleased to recognize certain persons
16	16	who have committed themselves, through their adroit service, to the betterment of the legislative
17	17	process; and
18	18	WHEREAS, Cleveland Buchanan Wilson is one such individual who has distinguished
19	19	himself in his role as a legislative intern for Senator Steve Southerland; Cleveland's work has
20	20	resulted in innumerable benefits for the legislators he assisted, Senator Southerland and his
21	21	staff, and the General Assembly as a whole; and
22	22	WHEREAS, even with energy drinks serving as his primary fuel and the demands of
23	23	juggling two jobs, the exceptional Mr. Wilson never failed to show up with unwavering
24	24	enthusiasm and a steadfast commitment to making a meaningful impact for the State of
25	25	Tennessee; and
26	26	WHEREAS, Cleveland Wilson is known as "Mr. Charger" among his peers, a testament
27	27	to his unwavering kindness; no fewer than three entitled borrowers would seek him out multiple
28	28	times a day, drawn to his ever-reliable generosity; and
29	29	WHEREAS, Mr. Wilson's boundless generosity is truly a sight to behold; with an open
30	30	heart, he graciously offered to furnish the newly assigned office with furniture and an espresso
31	31	machine; and
32	32	WHEREAS, his thoughtfulness shone even brighter when he surprised the secretary in
33	33	his office with a brand-new water bottle after hers mysteriously vanished for far too long; and
34	34	WHEREAS, when he stepped into the role of secretary for the day, the industrious Mr.
35	35	Wilson tackled the office's ancient machinery with gusto; though he managed to jam two

40	40	printers in his valiant efforts, he triumphantly replaced one relic that had stood since time
41	41	immemorial, leaving the office all the better for his spirited intervention; and
42	42	WHEREAS, a student at Tennessee State University, where he is highly regarded by his
43	43	peers, Cleveland Wilson has achieved academic success while pursuing a major in political
44	44	science; this stellar scholar has made the Dean's List for multiple semesters and expects to
45	45	graduate in December 2025; and
46	46	WHEREAS, the son of Tom Wilson and Mary Kate Wilson, Cleveland is a native of
47	47	Greenville, South Carolina, and studied jazz at the city's Fine Arts Center while attending
48	48	Greenville High School, from which he graduated in 2016; and
49	49	WHEREAS, this extremely gifted young artist began working as a music producer for
50	50	Kobalt Music Services in Nashville immediately after graduating from high school, and he
51	51	signed a publishing deal with the company when he was only twenty years old; and
52	52	WHEREAS, Mr. Wilson was nominated for the Country Music Association Award for
53	53	2019 Album of the Year for his work on Thomas Rhett's Center Point Road; and
54	54	WHEREAS, he was also nominated for the Dove Award for 2023 Pop/Contemporary
55	55	Album of the Year for his contributions to Blessing Offor's My Tribe; and
56	56	WHEREAS, Cleveland Wilson wrote "Out of My Mind" for Little Image; the 2023
57	57	recording reached No. 1 on the U.S. Alternative Radio chart and peaked at No. 3 on the
58	58	Billboard Alternative chart; and
59	59	WHEREAS, no stranger to hard work and diligence, Mr. Wilson is a veteran of the food
60	60	and beverage service industry; he once worked at a glue factory, where he was recognized as a
61	61	paragon for stepping on only one nail; and
62	62	WHEREAS, a huge fan of the Boston Red Sox, Cleveland Wilson has distinguished
63	63	himself in the sporting world as the 2025 Fantasy Football Champion, with special thanks to
64	64	Creighton Wilson for this title; and

69	69	WHEREAS, he has accomplished a great deal in his mere twenty-seven years on Earth,
70	70	including capturing the affections of Madeline Howard, a "super cute" physical therapist; and
71	71	WHEREAS, eager to familiarize himself with the characteristics and complexities of
72	72	Tennessee State government and to further his studies, Cleveland Wilson brought his many
73	73	abilities and singular expertise to Capitol Hill for the 2025 session of the One Hundred
74	74	Fourteenth General Assembly; and
75	75	WHEREAS, throughout the 2025 legislative session, Cleveland Wilson has surpassed all
76	76	criteria that define a devoted and conscientious legislative intern; and
77	77	WHEREAS, he has performed his many duties with extraordinary insight and rare
78	78	decorum; now, therefore,
79	79	BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTEENTH
80	80	GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, THE HOUSE OF
81	81	REPRESENTATIVES CONCURRING, that we commend Cleveland Buchanan Wilson for
82	82	outstanding service as a legislative intern for Senator Steve Southerland, honor his
83	83	accomplishments in music, and extend to him our best wishes for every future success.
84	84	BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that an appropriate copy of this resolution be prepared
85	85	for presentation with this final clause omitted from such copy and upon proper request made to
86	86	the appropriate clerk, the language appearing immediately following the State seal appear
87	87	without House or Senate designation.
