1212 A RESOLUTION to honor and recognize Jack Magee, 2025
1313 Valedictorian of Christian Academy of Knoxville.

1515 WHEREAS, it is fitting that the members of this General Assembly should pause to pay
1616 tribute to those students who, through their natural talents and unflagging commitment to
1717 academic excellence, have distinguished themselves in the classroom; and
1818 WHEREAS, Jack Magee is one such exceptional student, who was recently named
1919 Valedictorian of the 2025 graduating class at Christian Academy of Knoxville; and
2020 WHEREAS, through diligent study, steady composure during examinations, and
2121 steadfast commitment of time and talent, Mr. Magee has achieved outstanding academic
2222 success and joined the ranks of the best and brightest students in Tennessee and our country;
2323 and
2424 WHEREAS, in his remarkable high school career, Mr. Magee has earned an exemplary
2525 grade point average of 4.46 while participating in numerous extracurricular activities, including
2626 acting as a teen advisor and being a member of the marching band, the National Honor Society,
2727 the National English Honor Society, the Scholars' Bowl, and the student Senate; and
2828 WHEREAS, Mr. Magee is no stranger to accolades, and his impressive performance in
2929 all his chosen endeavors has accrued him such notable honors as serving as the National
3030 Honor Society chapter president, earning the Leonard Bernstein Award, and being named a
3131 National Merit Finalist, a National Honor Society Scholarship semifinalist, an AP Scholar with
3232 Honor, and an All-State Band member; and
3333 WHEREAS, Mr. Magee has also generously given of his time to teach drum lessons to
3434 younger students, acting as an exemplary mentor among his peers; and

3939 WHEREAS, his display of intellectual aptitude and ambition surely bodes well for his
4040 future success, as he goes on to study neuroscience and radiology and continues to follow his
4141 passion for music; and
4242 WHEREAS, Mr. Magee's noteworthy achievement is a tremendous source of pride for
4343 his parents, Brandi Magee and Matt Magee, his school, and his community; and
4444 WHEREAS, Jack Magee's dedication to excellence is clearly deserving of the respect,
4545 admiration, and commendation of the members of this General Assembly; now, therefore,
4646 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTEE NTH
4747 GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, THE HOUSE OF
4848 REPRESENTATIVES CONCURRING, that we commend and honor the 2025 Christian
4949 Academy of Knoxville Valedictorian, Jack Magee, on his impressive academic achievement and
5050 extend to him our best wishes for a happy, successful future.
5151 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that an appropriate copy of this resolution be prepared
5252 for presentation with this final clause omitted from such copy and upon proper request made to
5353 the appropriate clerk, the language appearing immediately following the State seal appear
5454 without House or Senate designation.
