15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, it is fitting that the members of this General Assembly should pause to pay |

16 | 16 | | tribute to those students who, through their natural talents and unflagging commitment to |

17 | 17 | | academic excellence, have distinguished themselves in the classroom; and |
---|
18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, Jacob Slaughter is one such exceptional student, who will soon graduate |
---|
19 | 19 | | cum laude from Mt. Juliet High School; and |
---|
20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, through diligent study, steady composure during examinations, and |
---|
21 | 21 | | steadfast commitment of time and talent, Mr. Slaughter has maintained a 3.8 grade point |
---|
22 | 22 | | average while working at the Mt. Juliet Kroger, participating in FFA, and assisting a special |
---|
23 | 23 | | needs class through the Nature and Needs Exceptional Learning class at Mt. Juliet High School; |
---|

25 | 25 | | WHEREAS, his interest in mechanics led him to work with his father to build a new |
---|
26 | 26 | | motor for his truck; he also enjoys camping with his family; and |

27 | 27 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Slaughter attended Elzie Patton Elementary School, Stonercreek |
---|
28 | 28 | | Elementary School, and West Wilson Middle School, participating in the Seek program and |
---|
29 | 29 | | weathering the 2020 tornadoes that hit West Wilson Middle; and |
---|
30 | 30 | | WHEREAS, Jacob Slaughter's display of intellectual aptitude and ambition surely bodes |
---|
31 | 31 | | well for his future success at trade school, as he begins his journey toward becoming an |
---|
32 | 32 | | electrician; and |
---|
33 | 33 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Slaughter's noteworthy achievement is a tremendous source of pride for |

34 | 34 | | his family, including his parents, Ronald Eugene "Gene" and Jessica Slaughter, as well as his |
