1212 A RESOLUTION to honor and recognize Jacob Slaughter of Mt.
1313 Juliet High School.

1515 WHEREAS, it is fitting that the members of this General Assembly should pause to pay
1616 tribute to those students who, through their natural talents and unflagging commitment to
1717 academic excellence, have distinguished themselves in the classroom; and
1818 WHEREAS, Jacob Slaughter is one such exceptional student, who will soon graduate
1919 cum laude from Mt. Juliet High School; and
2020 WHEREAS, through diligent study, steady composure during examinations, and
2121 steadfast commitment of time and talent, Mr. Slaughter has maintained a 3.8 grade point
2222 average while working at the Mt. Juliet Kroger, participating in FFA, and assisting a special
2323 needs class through the Nature and Needs Exceptional Learning class at Mt. Juliet High School;
2424 and
2525 WHEREAS, his interest in mechanics led him to work with his father to build a new
2626 motor for his truck; he also enjoys camping with his family; and
2727 WHEREAS, Mr. Slaughter attended Elzie Patton Elementary School, Stonercreek
2828 Elementary School, and West Wilson Middle School, participating in the Seek program and
2929 weathering the 2020 tornadoes that hit West Wilson Middle; and
3030 WHEREAS, Jacob Slaughter's display of intellectual aptitude and ambition surely bodes
3131 well for his future success at trade school, as he begins his journey toward becoming an
3232 electrician; and
3333 WHEREAS, Mr. Slaughter's noteworthy achievement is a tremendous source of pride for
3434 his family, including his parents, Ronald Eugene "Gene" and Jessica Slaughter, as well as his

3939 younger twin siblings, Andrew and Carleigh; his school, his community; and his church
4040 community at Shiloh Baptist Church; and
4141 WHEREAS, Jacob Slaughter's dedication to excellence is clearly deserving of the
4242 respect, admiration, and commendation of the members of this General Assembly; now,
4343 therefore,
4444 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTEENTH
4545 GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, THE HOUSE OF
4646 REPRESENTATIVES CONCURRING, that we hereby commend and honor Jacob Slaughter,
4747 2025 Mt. Juliet High School graduate, on his impressive academic achievement and extend to
4848 him our best wishes for a happy, successful future.
4949 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that an appropriate copy of this resolution be prepared
5050 for presentation with this final clause omitted from such copy and upon proper request made to
5151 the appropriate clerk, the language appearing immediately following the State seal appear
