| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) was created in 1933 as a federally |

| 17 | 17 | | owned corporation to provide electricity generation, economic development, and environmental |

| 18 | 18 | | stewardship for the Tennessee Valley region, including Memphis and Shelby County; and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, Memphis Light, Gas and Water (MLGW), founded in 1939, became TVA's |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | largest local power company partner, working collaboratively to ensure reliable, affordable, and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | sustainable energy for the citizens and businesses of Memphis; and |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | WHEREAS, for ninety years, the partnership between TVA and MLGW has been a |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | cornerstone of economic development and community advancement, providing energy solutions |

| 24 | 24 | | that have fueled Memphis' growth into one of the most vibrant cities in the nation; and |

| 25 | 25 | | WHEREAS, TVA has not only delivered affordable electricity to Memphis but also |

| 26 | 26 | | invested in initiatives that prioritize workforce development, energy efficiency, and community |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | enrichment, thereby enhancing the quality of life for all residents; and |

| 28 | 28 | | WHEREAS, this enduring collaboration has demonstrated exceptional resilience and |
