16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, it is fitting that we should honor and specially commend those distinguished |

17 | 17 | | organizations whose stated goals advance the most noble precepts of human endeavors and |
---|
18 | 18 | | whose history of service in pursuit of those goals stands as a shining example to the citizens of |
---|
19 | 19 | | this great State; and |
---|
20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, one such estimable organization that evinces the greatest integrity and |
---|
21 | 21 | | probity in all its chosen endeavors is the Tennessee Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, |
---|
22 | 22 | | Inc., which will host the fifteenth annual Delta Days at the Capitol on February 17-18, 2025; and |
---|
23 | 23 | | WHEREAS, Tennessee's first Delta Days at the Capitol was held February 22-23, 2010, |
---|
24 | 24 | | and featured informative workshops on various social action topics, including HIV/AIDS, the |
---|
25 | 25 | | housing crisis, economic development, and the State education system; there was also a |
---|
26 | 26 | | townhall meeting titled Healthcare: Key Issues Facing African Americans; and |
---|
27 | 27 | | WHEREAS, the chairs and sponsors for this year's Delta Days at the Capitol are |
---|
28 | 28 | | Chandra L. Wilson, Tennessee Social Action Coordinator and Chattanooga Alumnae; Celia |
---|
29 | 29 | | Conley, Tennessee Social Action Co-Coordinator and Nashville Alumnae; Jessica Rich, Delta |

30 | 30 | | Days at the Capitol Host and Co-Coordinator and Nashville Metropolitan Alumnae; Michelle |

45 | 45 | | BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTEENTH |

46 | 46 | | GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, that we commend the members of |

47 | 47 | | the Tennessee Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., for their Delta Days at the Capitol, |

48 | 48 | | extending our gratitude for their exemplary service to their respective communities and |

49 | 49 | | applauding their efforts to improve the policies of the State and the well-being of its citizens. |
