| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, it is most fitting that we should acknowledge and applaud those citizens |

| 16 | 16 | | who, through their extraordinary efforts, have proven themselves leaders of whom we can all be |

|---|
| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, one such noteworthy individual is Terrell Carpenter of the Memphis |

| 19 | 19 | | Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., who was recently named the 2025 Florida |

| 20 | 20 | | A. Collins Delta of the Year, an honor most befitting her continued leadership and commitment |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | to compassionate service through the organization; and |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | WHEREAS, each year, the Memphis Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | Inc., recognizes a member who exemplifies the qualities of its illustrious sisterhood, someone |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | who goes beyond the call of duty to make a significant impact on the community, the chapter, |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | and the sorority as a whole; and |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | WHEREAS, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., has distinguished itself as an international |

| 27 | 27 | | public service organization with a five-point programmatic thrust that addresses economic |

| 28 | 28 | | development, educational development, international awareness and involvement, physical and |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | mental health, and political awareness and involvement/social action; and |

| 30 | 30 | | WHEREAS, the Memphis Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., has |

| 31 | 31 | | been a stalwart of the Memphis community for more than eight decades, engaging in public |

| 32 | 32 | | service through collaboration and partnership with individuals and organizations that align with |

| 41 | 41 | | WHEREAS, it is our privilege to recognize Ms. Carpenter for her many accomplishments |

| 42 | 42 | | and devoted service to Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., as well as her most recent, most |

| 43 | 43 | | deserved, honor; now, therefore, |

| 44 | 44 | | BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTEENTH |
