| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 49-8-201, provides for the creation of |

|---|
| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 49-8-201, further provides that the |

| 19 | 19 | | governor shall appoint twelve members to the Tennessee board of regents; and |

| 20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, Governor Bill Lee has appointed Deanne Dewitt of Sumner County to the |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | Tennessee board of regents as a member representing the 6 |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | th |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | Congressional District to a term |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | that will expire on June 30, 2030; and |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | WHEREAS, a highly successful businesswoman, Ms. Dewitt is a business consulting |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | professional and serves as the president of the Preservation Foundation of Sumner County; she |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering from the University |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | of Illinois; and |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | WHEREAS, Deanne Dewitt is a person of integrity and an active citizen whose |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | benevolence, acumen, and strong commitment to public service have helped to enhance the |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | well-being of this State and its citizens; and |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | WHEREAS, Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 49-8-201, provides that each member |

| 33 | 33 | | appointed by the governor to the Tennessee board of regents shall be confirmed by the senate; |
