| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, the members of this legislative body are pleased to recognize those |

| 17 | 17 | | estimable organizations that, through their unflagging commitment and unwavering dedication to |

| 18 | 18 | | the highest tenets of community service, enrich the lives of the citizens of this great State; and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, one such exemplary organization is the Alpha Alpha Gamma Omega |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, which has rendered valuable service to |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | the communities of Raleigh, Bartlett, and Frayser since its chartering on May 26, 2018; and |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | WHEREAS, the first four-letter chapter in the South Eastern Region, the Alpha Alpha |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | Gamma Omega Chapter is led by Regional Director Dr. Tracey Morant Adams and is committed |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | to making a positive impact in the community through numerous initiatives and programs; and |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | WHEREAS, through its community efforts, the Alpha Alpha Gamma Omega Chapter |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | provides food and snacks to children in three elementary schools in Memphis and has given |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | back to local seniors by providing blankets, batteries, socks, hats, and gloves through its |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | signature program, Blankets and Blessings; and |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | WHEREAS, the chapter's dedication to environmental sustainability and community well- |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | being is evidenced by its participation in the Tennessee Adopt-A-Highway Program, providing |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | free shredding services, and planting trees in food deserts and food-insecure neighborhoods; |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | and |

| 33 | 33 | | WHEREAS, the Alpha Alpha Gamma Omega Chapter was recently recognized by the |

| 34 | 34 | | Shelby County Commission for its outstanding contribution to voter registration, successfully |

| 35 | 35 | | registering over eighty-two voters in Shelby County during the past election season and |
|---|

| 43 | 43 | | steadfast dedication to community service and civic engagement; now, therefore, |

| 44 | 44 | | BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTEENTH |
