16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, it is fitting that the members of this legislative body should pause to |

17 | 17 | | specially recognize those outstanding teachers who have devoted their careers to providing the |
---|
18 | 18 | | highest quality education for Tennessee's students; and |
---|
19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, Megan High is one such estimable educator, who has distinguished herself |
---|
20 | 20 | | as a professional of the greatest dedication, ability, and integrity; and |
---|
21 | 21 | | WHEREAS, a Pre-K teacher at Buckley-Carpenter Elementary School, Mrs. High was |
---|
22 | 22 | | recently named the school's 2024–2025 Teacher of the Year, a most befitting honor for her |
---|
23 | 23 | | thirteen-year tenure as an educator, as it recognizes the positive influence she has on so many |
---|
24 | 24 | | young lives; and |
---|
25 | 25 | | WHEREAS, inspired by her fourth-grade teacher, Mrs. High graduated from the |
---|
26 | 26 | | University of Memphis with a Bachelor of Science degree in Education, and she began her |
---|
27 | 27 | | teaching career at Somerville Elementary School before arriving at her current position, where |
---|
28 | 28 | | she has worked tirelessly for her students with her co-teacher, Mrs. Joni Hoskins; and |
---|
29 | 29 | | WHEREAS, Mrs. High has always been committed to fostering an interactive and |
---|
30 | 30 | | engaging educational experience that facilitates a lifelong love of learning, and her efforts can |
---|
31 | 31 | | be seen clearly in the lives of her students; and |
---|
32 | 32 | | WHEREAS, Mrs. High truly serves as an inspiration to the faculty and staff at Buckley- |

33 | 33 | | Carpenter Elementary School, and her friendship and counsel are highly valued by those who |
