13	13	A RESOLUTION to designate March as Tennessee Athletic
14	14	Training Month.

16	16	WHEREAS, athletic trainers are health care professionals who collaborate with
17	17	physicians to provide preventative services, emergency care, clinical diagnoses, therapeutic
18	18	intervention, and rehabilitation of injuries and medical conditions; and
19	19	WHEREAS, the profession of athletic training is recognized by the American Medical
20	20	Association, the U.S. Health Resources Services Administration, and the U.S. Department of
21	21	Health and Human Services as an allied health care profession; and
22	22	WHEREAS, athletic trainers have a long history of providing quality health care for
23	23	athletes and individuals engaged in physical activities, from youth sports to professional sports,
24	24	ensuring their safety and well-being; and
25	25	WHEREAS, the State of Tennessee recognizes the important role that athletic trainers
26	26	play in maintaining the health and safety of our residents, particularly in the prevention and
27	27	management of injuries; and
28	28	WHEREAS, March is an appropriate month to celebrate and promote awareness of the
29	29	contributions that athletic trainers make to the health care system in Tennessee; now, therefore,
30	30	BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTEENTH
31	31	GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, that March is designated as
32	32	Tennessee Athletic Training Month in recognition of the vital services provided by athletic
33	33	trainers to the citizens of Tennessee.
34	34	BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that an appropriate copy of this resolution be prepared
35	35	for presentation with this final clause omitted from such copy.
