| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, it is fitting that the members of this legislative body should pay tribute to |

| 18 | 18 | | those civic-minded students who, through their natural talents and unflagging commitment to |

| 19 | 19 | | academic excellence, have distinguished themselves in the classroom and their community; and |

| 20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, Alyssa Trent is one such exceptional student, who was recently named the |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | winner in the 9-12 grade category of the 2024 Tennessee Secretary of State's civics essay |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | contest; and |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | WHEREAS, the theme for the essay contest was "Why Trusted Sources Matter"; |

| 24 | 24 | | through participation in the contest, students became better informed of their important roles as |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | citizens of the great State of Tennessee; and |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | WHEREAS, a student at Lawrence County High School, where she is highly regarded by |

| 27 | 27 | | her peers, Alyssa Trent has achieved academic success and has readied herself to become an |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | active and conscientious citizen; and |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | WHEREAS, Ms. Trent will be presented a TN Stars 529 Scholarship in the amount of |

| 30 | 30 | | $500 at the luncheon and awards ceremony hosted by the Secretary of State on April 3, 2025; |

| 32 | 32 | | WHEREAS, her display of intellectual aptitude and ambition surely bodes well for her |

| 34 | 34 | | WHEREAS, Alyssa Trent's noteworthy achievement is a tremendous source of pride for |
