16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, it is fitting that the members of this legislative body should salute those |

17 | 17 | | student athletes who, through their extraordinary efforts, have distinguished themselves as true |

18 | 18 | | champions of whom we can all be proud; and |

19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, one such exemplary group of lads is the Fayette-Ware Comprehensive High |

20 | 20 | | School Wildcats boys' basketball team, whose members have proven themselves to be the |

21 | 21 | | fiercest of competitors and truly worthy of admiration by winning the District 14 and Region 7 |
---|
22 | 22 | | tournaments and reaching the semifinals of the 2025 TSSAA Class 3A state tournament; and |

23 | 23 | | WHEREAS, in their semifinal game of the District 14 tourney, the Wildcats demolished |

24 | 24 | | Bolton 81-50 to advance in their quest for the title; and |

25 | 25 | | WHEREAS, in the championship game, Fayette-Ware defeated Haywood 62-59 behind |

26 | 26 | | a double-double from Tarecous Stevens and outstanding performances from Tacarien Freeman |

27 | 27 | | and Quaylan Hampton to bring home the gold; and |

28 | 28 | | WHEREAS, the Wildcats then advanced to the Class 3A West regional competition, |

29 | 29 | | where they crushed Obion County 75-55 in the quarterfinals, rolled over Dyer County 75-56 in |

30 | 30 | | their semifinal match-up, and defeated Dyersburg 51-42 in the final to claim the Region 7 |

32 | 32 | | WHEREAS, matching up against Kirby in their sectional game, Fayette-Ware prevailed |

33 | 33 | | by a score of 75-60 to gain entry into the promised land of the state tournament; and |
