1212 A RESOLUTION to honor and commend the Fayette-Ware
1313 Wildcats boys' basketball team upon an
1414 outstanding 2024-2025 season.

1616 WHEREAS, it is fitting that the members of this legislative body should salute those
1717 student athletes who, through their extraordinary efforts, have distinguished themselves as true
1818 champions of whom we can all be proud; and
1919 WHEREAS, one such exemplary group of lads is the Fayette-Ware Comprehensive High
2020 School Wildcats boys' basketball team, whose members have proven themselves to be the
2121 fiercest of competitors and truly worthy of admiration by winning the District 14 and Region 7
2222 tournaments and reaching the semifinals of the 2025 TSSAA Class 3A state tournament; and
2323 WHEREAS, in their semifinal game of the District 14 tourney, the Wildcats demolished
2424 Bolton 81-50 to advance in their quest for the title; and
2525 WHEREAS, in the championship game, Fayette-Ware defeated Haywood 62-59 behind
2626 a double-double from Tarecous Stevens and outstanding performances from Tacarien Freeman
2727 and Quaylan Hampton to bring home the gold; and
2828 WHEREAS, the Wildcats then advanced to the Class 3A West regional competition,
2929 where they crushed Obion County 75-55 in the quarterfinals, rolled over Dyer County 75-56 in
3030 their semifinal match-up, and defeated Dyersburg 51-42 in the final to claim the Region 7
3131 championship crown; and
3232 WHEREAS, matching up against Kirby in their sectional game, Fayette-Ware prevailed
3333 by a score of 75-60 to gain entry into the promised land of the state tournament; and
3434 WHEREAS, poised for victory, the Wildcats bested Fulton 57-49 in the quarterfinals of
3535 the Class 3A state tournament at MTSU's Murphy Center; and

4040 WHEREAS Fayette-Ware finished their remarkable 2024-2025 campaign with a 28-6
4141 overall record; and
4242 WHEREAS, the following young men are proud to call themselves Wildcats: JaCorey
4343 Stanley, Hunter Malena, Christopher Ransom, Quaylan Hampton, Markylon Terry, Cash
4444 Williams, Markevius Brown, Elijah Lowe, Tarecous Stevens, Michael Harris, Julian Williams,
4545 and Tacarien Freeman; and
4646 WHEREAS, Fayette-Ware's superb performance would not have been possible without
4747 the stellar leadership of Head Coach Demarius Chearis and assistant coaches Quinterius
4848 Armour, Corderro Blade, Marcus Freeman, and Kimani Shotwell and the unfailing support of
4949 their families, their fans, and their community; and
5050 WHEREAS, the members of the Fayette-Ware boys' basketball team epitomize all that is
5151 good in today's student athletes, as they have achieved a premier level of success in
5252 competition while exhibiting the highest degree of character in all aspects of life; and
5353 WHEREAS, the perseverance, determination, work ethic, and talent of this group of
5454 young men not only made possible an outstanding season but also surely bode well for their
5555 future success; and
5656 WHEREAS, the members of this legislative body find it appropriate to acknowledge and
5757 applaud the Fayette-Ware Wildcats for their outstanding season on the hardwood; now,
5858 therefore,
5959 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTEENTH
6060 GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, that we honor and commend the
6161 members and coaches of the Fayette-Ware Comprehensive High School Wildcats boys'
6262 basketball team upon winning the District 14 tournament and the Region 7 championship and
6363 reaching the semifinals of the Class 3A state tournament and extend to them our best wishes
6464 for every continued success in all their future endeavors.
