12	12	A RESOLUTION to honor and commend the Fayette-Ware
13	13	Wildcats boys' basketball team upon an
14	14	outstanding 2024-2025 season.

16	16	WHEREAS, it is fitting that the members of this legislative body should salute those
17	17	student athletes who, through their extraordinary efforts, have distinguished themselves as true
18	18	champions of whom we can all be proud; and
19	19	WHEREAS, one such exemplary group of lads is the Fayette-Ware Comprehensive High
20	20	School Wildcats boys' basketball team, whose members have proven themselves to be the
21	21	fiercest of competitors and truly worthy of admiration by winning the District 14 and Region 7
22	22	tournaments and reaching the semifinals of the 2025 TSSAA Class 3A state tournament; and
23	23	WHEREAS, in their semifinal game of the District 14 tourney, the Wildcats demolished
24	24	Bolton 81-50 to advance in their quest for the title; and
25	25	WHEREAS, in the championship game, Fayette-Ware defeated Haywood 62-59 behind
26	26	a double-double from Tarecous Stevens and outstanding performances from Tacarien Freeman
27	27	and Quaylan Hampton to bring home the gold; and
28	28	WHEREAS, the Wildcats then advanced to the Class 3A West regional competition,
29	29	where they crushed Obion County 75-55 in the quarterfinals, rolled over Dyer County 75-56 in
30	30	their semifinal match-up, and defeated Dyersburg 51-42 in the final to claim the Region 7
31	31	championship crown; and
32	32	WHEREAS, matching up against Kirby in their sectional game, Fayette-Ware prevailed
33	33	by a score of 75-60 to gain entry into the promised land of the state tournament; and
34	34	WHEREAS, poised for victory, the Wildcats bested Fulton 57-49 in the quarterfinals of
35	35	the Class 3A state tournament at MTSU's Murphy Center; and

40	40	WHEREAS Fayette-Ware finished their remarkable 2024-2025 campaign with a 28-6
41	41	overall record; and
42	42	WHEREAS, the following young men are proud to call themselves Wildcats: JaCorey
43	43	Stanley, Hunter Malena, Christopher Ransom, Quaylan Hampton, Markylon Terry, Cash
44	44	Williams, Markevius Brown, Elijah Lowe, Tarecous Stevens, Michael Harris, Julian Williams,
45	45	and Tacarien Freeman; and
46	46	WHEREAS, Fayette-Ware's superb performance would not have been possible without
47	47	the stellar leadership of Head Coach Demarius Chearis and assistant coaches Quinterius
48	48	Armour, Corderro Blade, Marcus Freeman, and Kimani Shotwell and the unfailing support of
49	49	their families, their fans, and their community; and
50	50	WHEREAS, the members of the Fayette-Ware boys' basketball team epitomize all that is
51	51	good in today's student athletes, as they have achieved a premier level of success in
52	52	competition while exhibiting the highest degree of character in all aspects of life; and
53	53	WHEREAS, the perseverance, determination, work ethic, and talent of this group of
54	54	young men not only made possible an outstanding season but also surely bode well for their
55	55	future success; and
56	56	WHEREAS, the members of this legislative body find it appropriate to acknowledge and
57	57	applaud the Fayette-Ware Wildcats for their outstanding season on the hardwood; now,
58	58	therefore,
59	59	BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTEENTH
60	60	GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, that we honor and commend the
61	61	members and coaches of the Fayette-Ware Comprehensive High School Wildcats boys'
62	62	basketball team upon winning the District 14 tournament and the Region 7 championship and
63	63	reaching the semifinals of the Class 3A state tournament and extend to them our best wishes
64	64	for every continued success in all their future endeavors.
