1212 A RESOLUTION to honor and congratulate Dr. Tonya Dennis on
1313 her selection as a finalist for Principal of the
1414 Year with Metro Nashville Public Schools.

1616 WHEREAS, it is fitting that we should pause to specially recognize those outstanding
1717 citizens who have devoted their careers to providing the highest-quality education for
1818 Tennessee's students; and
1919 WHEREAS, Dr. Tonya Dennis is one such estimable administrator, who has
2020 distinguished herself as a professional of the greatest dedication, ability, and integrity; and
2121 WHEREAS, the principal of Haynes Middle School, Dr. Dennis was recently named a
2222 finalist for Principal of the Year by Metro Nashville Public Schools, a most befitting honor that
2323 recognizes the positive influence she has on so many young lives; and
2424 WHEREAS, Dr. Tonya Dennis is an extremely talented and compassionate administrator
2525 who works assiduously to motivate her students, teachers, and staff to reach their full potential
2626 as scholars, professionals, and citizens; and
2727 WHEREAS, Dr. Dennis serves as an inspiration to her faculty and staff, and her
2828 friendship and counsel are highly valued by those who are fortunate to know her; and
2929 WHEREAS, Dr. Tonya Dennis truly epitomizes the dedicated principal who is wholly
3030 committed to the highest ideals of public service and quality education for all, and she should be
3131 specially recognized; now, therefore,
3232 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTEENTH
3333 GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, that w e hereby honor and
3434 congratulate Dr. Tonya Dennis on being named a finalist for Principal of the Year by Metro
3535 Nashville Public Schools, commend her exceptional service to the children of Tennessee, salute
3636 her professional expertise and personal excellence, and wish her all the best in her future
3737 endeavors.
