15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, each legislative session, this body is pleased to recognize certain persons |

16 | 16 | | who have committed themselves, through their adroit service, to the betterment of the legislative |

18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, Austin Parker is one such individual, who has distinguished himself in his |
---|
19 | 19 | | role as a legislative intern for Senator Ferrell Haile; Mr. Parker's work has resulted in |
---|
20 | 20 | | innumerable benefits for the legislators he assisted and the General Assembly as a whole; and |
---|
21 | 21 | | WHEREAS, a student at Lipscomb University, where he is highly regarded by his peers, |
---|
22 | 22 | | Austin Parker has achieved academic success while majoring in political science with a minor in |
---|
23 | 23 | | history, in addition to serving as a founding officer of the Alpha Delta fraternity, a member of Pi |
---|
24 | 24 | | Sigma Alpha, and a peer tutor for the Writing Studio at Lipscomb University; and |
---|
25 | 25 | | WHEREAS, with an indefatigable industriousness, Mr. Parker has further fostered his |
---|
26 | 26 | | wealth of skills by serving as a legal intern with Massingill Attorneys and Counselors at Law in |
---|
27 | 27 | | Austin, Texas, and as a Lex Fellow in Washington, D.C.; and |
---|
28 | 28 | | WHEREAS, a dedicated member of his community, Mr. Parker has volunteered with the |
---|
29 | 29 | | Nashville Dolphins to give swimming lessons to children with mental and physical disabilities; |
---|

31 | 31 | | WHEREAS, eager to familiarize himself with the characteristics and complexities of |

32 | 32 | | Tennessee State government and to further his studies, Mr. Parker brought his many abilities |
