| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, it is fitting that the members of this legislative body should recognize those |

| 17 | 17 | | incredibly successful student athletes who have distinguished themselves as inspirational |

| 18 | 18 | | leaders among their peers; and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, a statewide committee of sportswriters recently named Taquez Butler, a |

| 20 | 20 | | senior at Whitehaven High School, TSSAA Class 4A Mr. Basketball, based upon his |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | outstanding performance on the hardwood during the 2024-2025 regular season; and |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | WHEREAS, his superior academic record and upstanding character were also taken into |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | consideration when the committee selected Mr. Butler as the winner of this prestigious award, |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | which honors the best Class 4A male basketball player in the entire State; and |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Butler exemplifies the spirit, determination, and perseverance for which |

| 26 | 26 | | Tennesseans are notable, and he is richly deserving of our approbation; now, therefore, |

| 27 | 27 | | BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTEENTH |

| 28 | 28 | | GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, that we honor and congratulate |
