99 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1010 SECTION 1. Section 111.96, Education Code, is amended to
1111 read as follows:
1212 Sec. 111.96. ESTABLISHMENT: SCOPE. (a) The board of
1313 regents shall maintain [establish] an [upper-level] educational
1414 institution in the City of Victoria to be known as the University of
1515 Houston-Victoria.
1616 (b) The institution shall [be organized to] offer
1717 undergraduate [only junior, senior,] and graduate level programs.
1818 [(c) The institution may enroll a student who has
1919 successfully completed at least 30 semester credit hours of course
2020 work at a public or private institution of higher education and who
2121 is concurrently enrolled in another public or private institution
2222 of higher education.]
2323 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
2424 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
2525 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
2626 Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
2727 Act takes effect September 1, 2009.
