| 10 | 10 | SECTION 1. Subchapter E, Chapter 352, Local Government | |
| 11 | 11 | Code, is amended by adding Section 352.1145 to read as follows: | |
| 12 | 12 | Sec. 352.1145. SIREN-OPERATED SENSOR SYSTEMS FOR ELECTRIC | |
| 13 | 13 | GATES. The commissioners court of a county by order may require | |
| 14 | 14 | that each electric gate to a gated community or multiunit housing | |
| 15 | 15 | project be equipped with a gate-operating device that: | |
| 16 | 16 | (1) is approved by the county fire marshal; and | |
| 17 | 17 | (2) will activate the electric gate on the sounding of | |
| 18 | 18 | an emergency vehicle siren. | |
| 19 | 19 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2009. |
