77 relating to the amount of the exemption from ad valorem taxation to

99 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1010 SECTION 1. Section 11.22(a), Tax Code, is amended to read as

1212 (a) A disabled veteran is entitled to an exemption from
1313 taxation of a portion of the assessed value of a property the
1414 veteran owns and designates as provided by Subsection (f) [of this
1515 section] in accordance with the following schedule:

3030 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
3131 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
3232 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
3333 Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
3434 Act takes effect September 1, 2009.
