66 AN ACT
77 relating to a moratorium on requiring public school assessment
88 instruments to be administered to students by computer.
99 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1010 SECTION 1. Section 39.0234, Education Code, is amended by
1111 adding Subsection (f) to read as follows:
1212 (f) Notwithstanding any other provision of this chapter,
1313 the agency may not, before September 1, 2015, require a school
1414 district to administer to students by computer an assessment
1515 instrument required by Section 39.023. This section expires
1616 January 1, 2016.
1717 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
1818 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
1919 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
2020 Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
2121 Act takes effect September 1, 2009.
