A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to the financial audit of certain regional transportation
authorities by the state auditor.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Chapter 321, Government Code, is amended by
adding Section 321.025 to read as follows:
Sec. 321.025. FINANCIAL AUDIT OF CERTAIN REGIONAL
TRANSPORTATION AUTHORITIES. (a) The state auditor shall conduct a
financial audit under Section 321.0131 of an authority consisting
of one subregion governed by a subregional board created under
Subchapter O, Chapter 452, Transportation Code, and submit a
written report on the audit to the legislature no later than October
1, 2010.
(b) This section expires November 1, 2010.
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
Act takes effect September 1, 2009.
