| 7 | 7 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 8 | 8 | | SECTION 1. Subchapter G, Chapter 504, Transportation Code, |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | is amended by adding Section 504.6275 to read as follows: |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | Sec. 504.6275. SAVE OUR BEACHES LICENSE PLATES. (a) The |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | department shall issue specialty license plates to support the |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | coastal protection and improvement program. |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | (b) After deduction of the department's administrative |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | costs, the remainder of the fee for issuance of the license plates |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | shall be deposited to the credit of the coastal protection and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | improvement fund established by Section 33.653, Natural Resources |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | Code, to fund the cleaning, maintaining, nourishing, and protecting |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | of state beaches. |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2009. |
