8 | 8 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
9 | 9 | SECTION 1. Article 45.056, Code of Criminal Procedure, is | |
10 | 10 | amended by adding Subsection (f) to read as follows: | |
11 | 11 | (f) The judge of a court that employs a juvenile case | |
12 | 12 | manager under Subsection (a) or (c) shall supervise the juvenile | |
13 | 13 | case manager, except that the judge may delegate that duty to | |
14 | 14 | another officer of the court who is authorized to conduct hearings | |
15 | 15 | under Title 3, Family Code. The judge may not delegate that duty to | |
16 | 16 | the clerk of the court. | |
17 | 17 | SECTION 2. Article 45.056(f), Code of Criminal Procedure, | |
18 | 18 | as added by this Act, applies to the supervision of a juvenile case | |
19 | 19 | manager employed by a court on or after the effective date of this | |
20 | 20 | Act, regardless of whether the juvenile case manager began that | |
21 | 21 | employment before, on, or after the effective date of this Act. | |
22 | 22 | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2009. |
