77 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
88 SECTION 1. Subchapter Z, Chapter 661, Government Code, is
99 amended by adding Section 661.921 to read as follows:
1010 Sec. 661.921. COURT APPOINTED SPECIAL ADVOCATES VOLUNTEER.
1111 A state employee may be granted leave not to exceed five hours each
1212 month to participate in mandatory training or perform volunteer
1313 services for Court Appointed Special Advocates without a deduction
1414 in salary or loss of vacation time, sick leave, earned overtime
1515 credit, or state compensatory time.
1616 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
1717 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
1818 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
1919 Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
2020 Act takes effect September 1, 2009.
