Solomons, Chair, House Committee on State Affairs      FROM: John S. O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB1695 by Turner, Sylvester (Relating to the requirement that electric utilities create and implement a plan for infrastructure improvement and maintenance.), As Introduced    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  This bill would require the Public Utility Commission (PUC) to adopt new rules, review plans for infrastructure improvements and maintenance from electric utilities, and hold a hearing, if necessary. The PUC estimates that the duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources. Local Government Impact Though there could be some additional costs for reporting requirements, those costs are not anticipated to be significant.
