| 10 | 10 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 11 | 11 | SECTION 1. Section 55.1755(d), Education Code, is amended | |
| 12 | 12 | to read as follows: | |
| 13 | 13 | (d) Notwithstanding Subsection (a), the University of North | |
| 14 | 14 | Texas System may not issue bonds under this section for facilities | |
| 15 | 15 | at the University of North Texas Dallas Campus until the Texas | |
| 16 | 16 | Higher Education Coordinating Board certifies that enrollment at | |
| 17 | 17 | the University of North Texas Dallas Campus has reached an | |
| 18 | 18 | enrollment equivalent of 1,000 [1,500] full-time students for one | |
| 19 | 19 | semester. If that enrollment is not reached by January 1, 2010, the | |
| 20 | 20 | system's authority to issue bonds for the University of North Texas | |
| 21 | 21 | Dallas Campus under this section expires on that date. | |
| 22 | 22 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives | |
| 23 | 23 | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as | |
| 24 | 24 | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this | |
| 25 | 25 | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this | |
| 26 | 26 | Act takes effect September 1, 2009. |
