The bill would amend the Business Organizations Code relating to the designation or appointment of registered agents for service of process, notice, or demand for certain entities. The bill would define registered filing, represented domestic entity, and duties of registered agents. The bill would include penalties and liabilities for designating registered agents without their authorization or consent. The bill would require the Secretary of State to develop a written or electronic form for consenting to serve as a registered agent of an entity. The bill would be effective January 1, 2010. Local Government Impact No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
