| 10 | 10 | SECTION 1. Section 1.07(a), Penal Code, is amended by | |
| 11 | 11 | adding Subdivision (46-a) to read as follows: | |
| 12 | 12 | (46-a) "Sight order" means a written or electronic | |
| 13 | 13 | instruction to pay money that is authorized by the person giving the | |
| 14 | 14 | instruction and that is payable on demand or at a definite time by | |
| 15 | 15 | the person being instructed to pay. The term includes a check, an | |
| 16 | 16 | electronic debit, or an automatic bank draft. | |
| 17 | 17 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2009. |
