99 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1010 SECTION 1. Section 1.07(a), Penal Code, is amended by
1111 adding Subdivision (46-a) to read as follows:
1212 (46-a) "Sight order" means a written or electronic
1313 instruction to pay money that is authorized by the person giving the
1414 instruction and that is payable on demand or at a definite time by
1515 the person being instructed to pay. The term includes a check, an
1616 electronic debit, or an automatic bank draft.
1717 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2009.
