5	5	relating to the holidays for members of fire and police departments
6	6	in certain municipalities.
7	7	BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
8	8	SECTION 1. Section 142.0013(c), Local Government Code, is
9	9	amended to read as follows:
10	10	(c) A fire fighter [and a police officer] shall be granted
11	11	the same number of vacation days and holidays, or days in lieu of
12	12	vacation days or holidays, granted to other municipal employees, at
13	13	least one of which shall be designated as September 11th.
14	14	SECTION 2. Section 142.0013, Local Government Code, is
15	15	amended by adding Subsection (d) to read as follows:
16	16	(d) A police officer shall be granted the same number of
17	17	vacation days and holidays, or days in lieu of vacation days or
18	18	holidays, granted to other municipal employees.
19	19	SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2009.
