 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 AN ACT
 relating to application of restrictions on drivers under 18 years
 of age to persons who held a hardship license.
 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
 SECTION 1. Section 545.424(c), Transportation Code, is
 amended to read as follows:
 (c) This section does not apply to:
 (1) the holder of a hardship license or a person who
 held a hardship license immediately preceding the issuance of an
 original Class A, B, or C driver's license to the person; or
 (2) a person operating a motor vehicle while
 accompanied in the manner required by Section 521.222(d)(2) for the
 holder of an instruction permit.
 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
 Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
 Act takes effect September 1, 2009.
