5	5	relating to exempting Lamar State College--Orange and Lamar State
6	6	College--Port Arthur from certain requirements relating to student
7	7	admissions.
8	8	BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
9	9	SECTION 1. Section 51.805, Education Code, is amended by
10	10	adding Subsection (f) to read as follows:
11	11	(f) This section does not apply to Lamar State
12	12	College--Orange or Lamar State College--Port Arthur as long as
13	13	those institutions operate as two-year lower-division institutions
14	14	of higher education.
15	15	SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
16	16	a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
17	17	provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
18	18	Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
19	19	Act takes effect September 1, 2009.
