| 9 | 9 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 10 | 10 | | SECTION 1. . Subchapter C, Chapter 571, Government Code, is |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | amended by adding Section 571.0789 to read as follows: |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | Sec. 571.0789. POSTING STATEMENTS, REGISTRATIONS, AND |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | REPORTS ON WEBSITE. (a) This section applies to a statement, |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | registration, or report filed with the commission under: |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | (1) Chapter 302, 303, 305, 572, or 2004; |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | (2) Subchapter C, Chapter 159, Local Government Code, |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | by a county judicial officer, as defined by Section 159.051, Local |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | Government Code, who elects to file a financial statement with the |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | commission; or |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | (3) Title 15, Election Code. |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | (b) The commission shall post on its Internet website each |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | statement, registration, or report filed with the commission not |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | later than: |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | (1) the 3rd business day after the date on which the |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | statement, registration, or report is filed, if the statement, |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | registration, or report is filed electronically; or |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | (2) the 10th business day after the date on which the |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | statement, registration, or report is filed, if the statement, |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | registration, or report is not filed electronically. |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | (c) Not later than November 1, 2009, the commission shall |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | post on its website each personal financial statement filed with |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | the commission for the 2000 calendar year or a later calendar year |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | under: |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | (1) Chapter 572; or |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | (2) Subchapter C, Chapter 159, Local Government Code, |
|---|
| 36 | 36 | | by a county judicial officer who elects to file a financial |
|---|
| 37 | 37 | | statement with the commission. |
|---|
| 38 | 38 | | (d) Subsection (c) and this subsection expire January 1, |
|---|
| 39 | 39 | | 2009. |
|---|
| 40 | 40 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|---|
| 41 | 41 | | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|---|
| 42 | 42 | | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|---|
| 43 | 43 | | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|---|
| 44 | 44 | | Act takes effect September 1, 2009. |
