88 relating to the interstate purchase of certain firearms.
99 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1010 SECTION 1. Section 46.07, Penal Code, is amended to read as
1111 follows:
1212 Sec. 46.07. INTERSTATE PURCHASE. A resident of this state
1313 may, if not otherwise precluded by law, purchase firearms,
1414 ammunition, reloading components, or firearm accessories in
1515 another state [contiguous states]. This authorization is enacted
1616 in conformance with 18 U.S.C. Section 922(b)(3)(A)[, Public Law
1717 90-618, 90th Congress].
1818 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
1919 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
2020 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
2121 Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
2222 Act takes effect September 1, 2009.
