9 | 9 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
10 | 10 | SECTION 1. Section 46.07, Penal Code, is amended to read as | |
11 | 11 | follows: | |
12 | 12 | Sec. 46.07. INTERSTATE PURCHASE. A resident of this state | |
13 | 13 | may, if not otherwise precluded by law, purchase firearms, | |
14 | 14 | ammunition, reloading components, or firearm accessories in | |
15 | 15 | another state [contiguous states]. This authorization is enacted | |
16 | 16 | in conformance with 18 U.S.C. Section 922(b)(3)(A)[, Public Law | |
17 | 17 | 90-618, 90th Congress]. | |
18 | 18 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives | |
19 | 19 | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as | |
20 | 20 | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this | |
21 | 21 | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this | |
22 | 22 | Act takes effect September 1, 2009. |
