99 relating to the renewal of certain expired licenses or
1010 registrations.
1111 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1212 SECTION 1. Sections 37.006(f) and (g), Water Code, are
1313 amended to read as follows:
1414 (f) A person whose license or registration has been expired
1515 for 60 [30] days or less may apply for renewal of the license or
1616 registration by paying to the commission a renewal fee in an amount
1717 prescribed by commission rule not to exceed 1-1/2 times the
1818 normally required renewal fee.
1919 (g) A person whose license or registration has been expired
2020 for more than 60 [30] days may not renew the license or
2121 registration. The person may obtain a new license or registration
2222 by complying with the requirements and procedures, including the
2323 examination requirements, for obtaining an original license or
2424 registration.
2525 SECTION 2. The change in law made by this Act applies to the
2626 renewal of a license or registration that expires on or after the
2727 effective date of this Act. A license or registration that expires
2828 before the effective date of this Act is governed by the law in
2929 effect on the date the license or registration was issued, and the
3030 former law is continued in effect for that purpose.
3131 SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2009.
