77 relating to boil water notification requirements for water systems.
88 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
99 SECTION 1. Subchapter C, Chapter 341, Health and Safety
1010 Code, is amended by adding Section 341.043 to read as follows:
1111 Sec. 341.043. BOIL WATER NOTICES. (a) The operator of a
1212 public drinking water supply system, when required by commission
1313 rule to issue a boil water notice to its customers, shall:
1414 (1) provide the notice in writing to each customer as
1515 prescribed by commission rule to the street address of the
1616 customer; and
1717 (2) attempt to reach each customer by telephone to
1818 provide notice as prescribed by commission rule.
1919 (b) When a boil water notice is no longer in effect, the
2020 operator of a public drinking water supply system shall notify each
2121 customer that the boil water notice has expired in the manner
2222 described by Subsection (a).
2323 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2009.
