8 | 8 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
9 | 9 | SECTION 1. Subchapter C, Chapter 341, Health and Safety | |
10 | 10 | Code, is amended by adding Section 341.043 to read as follows: | |
11 | 11 | Sec. 341.043. BOIL WATER NOTICES. (a) The operator of a | |
12 | 12 | public drinking water supply system, when required by commission | |
13 | 13 | rule to issue a boil water notice to its customers, shall: | |
14 | 14 | (1) provide the notice in writing to each customer as | |
15 | 15 | prescribed by commission rule to the street address of the | |
16 | 16 | customer; and | |
17 | 17 | (2) attempt to reach each customer by telephone to | |
18 | 18 | provide notice as prescribed by commission rule. | |
19 | 19 | (b) When a boil water notice is no longer in effect, the | |
20 | 20 | operator of a public drinking water supply system shall notify each | |
21 | 21 | customer that the boil water notice has expired in the manner | |
22 | 22 | described by Subsection (a). | |
23 | 23 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2009. |
