77 relating to the board of directors of the Canadian River Municipal
88 Water Authority.
99 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1010 SECTION 1. Section 5(b), Chapter 243, Acts of the 53rd
1111 Legislature, Regular Session, 1953, is amended to read as follows:
1212 (b). The Board of Directors shall hold regular meetings, the
1313 date thereof to be established in the District's bylaws or by
1414 resolution. The President or any three members may call such
1515 special meetings as may be necessary in the administration of the
1616 District's business, provided that at least five days prior to the
1717 meeting date, the Secretary shall have mailed notice thereof to the
1818 address which each member shall file with the Secretary. Notices of
1919 special meetings may be waived in writing by any Director. The
2020 Board of Directors or Board committees may hold meetings by
2121 telephone conference call, by videoconference call, or through
2222 communications over the Internet, in accordance with procedures
2323 provided by Subchapter F, Chapter 551, Government Code, if
2424 determined to be necessary or convenient by the President or any
2525 three members. A closed meeting of the Board of Directors that is
2626 authorized under Chapter 551, Government Code, may include officers
2727 and employees of constituent cities of the District. Each Director
2828 shall receive a fee as provided by general law for each day devoted
2929 to District business. Each Director is also entitled to
3030 reimbursement for actual expenses incurred in carrying out District
3131 business, including attending a Board meeting. Payment to a
3232 Director for services performed and expenses incurred is subject to
3333 the approval of a majority of the Board.
3434 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2009.
