| 9 | 9 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 10 | 10 | SECTION 1. Subchapter E, Chapter 504, Transportation Code, | |
| 11 | 11 | is amended by adding Section 504.415 to read as follows: | |
| 12 | 12 | Sec. 504.415. SECURITY OFFICERS. (a) The department shall | |
| 13 | 13 | issue specialty license plates for security officers registered | |
| 14 | 14 | under Chapter 1702, Occupations Code, with the Texas Private | |
| 15 | 15 | Security Board. | |
| 16 | 16 | (b) The fee for the license plates is $40. | |
| 17 | 17 | (c) After deduction of $8 to reimburse the department for | |
| 18 | 18 | its administrative costs, the remainder of the fee for issuance of | |
| 19 | 19 | the license plates shall be deposited to the credit of the general | |
| 20 | 20 | revenue fund and may be appropriated only to the Department of | |
| 21 | 21 | Public Safety to fund the private security bureau. | |
| 22 | 22 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2009. |
