| 12 | 12 | Session, 2007, is amended by adding Subsection (a-1) to read as | |
| 13 | 13 | follows: | |
| 14 | 14 | (a-1) Notwithstanding Subsection (a), for an election of a | |
| 15 | 15 | political subdivision with a population of less than 5,000, other | |
| 16 | 16 | than an election that is held jointly with another election in which | |
| 17 | 17 | a federal office appears on the ballot, the political subdivision | |
| 18 | 18 | is not required to meet the requirements of Section | |
| 19 | 19 | 61.012(a)(1)(C). | |
| 20 | 20 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2009. |
