| 8 | 8 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 9 | 9 | | SECTION 1. Section 11, Chapter 197, Acts of the 58th |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | Legislature, Regular Session, 1963, is amended to read as follows: |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | Sec. 11. Each commissioner shall receive for performing |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | duties as a commissioner [his services] the sum of $200 [Fifty |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | Dollars ($50)] per month, except the president who shall receive |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | $250 [Seventy-five Dollars ($75)] per month, plus actual traveling |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | expenses. The board of commissioners shall fix the compensation of |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | the secretary, general manager, attorneys, engineers, and all other |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | employees, and said board shall fix and determine the term and time |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | of employment of all officers and employees of the district; |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | provided that all officers and employees of the district, except |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | the commissioners themselves, shall hold their offices subject to |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | the will of the Board of Port Commissioners. |

| 22 | 22 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2009. |
