99 relating to compensatory time off for public security officers
1010 employed by the Department of Public Safety and police
1111 communications operators employed by the Parks and Wildlife
1212 Department.
1313 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1414 SECTION 1. Section 662.005(b), Government Code, is amended
1515 to read as follows:
1616 (b) Except as provided by Section 662.010, and
1717 notwithstanding Section 659.015 or another law, a state employee
1818 who is a peace officer commissioned by a state officer or state
1919 agency listed under Article 2.12, Code of Criminal Procedure, or
2020 who is employed by the Department of Public Safety either to perform
2121 communications or dispatch services related to traffic law
2222 enforcement or as a public security officer, as that term is defined
2323 by Section 1701.001, Occupations Code, or who is employed by the
2424 Parks and Wildlife Department to perform communications and
2525 dispatch services to assist the law enforcement officers
2626 commissioned by the Parks and Wildlife Commission in performing law
2727 enforcement duties, and who is required to work on a national or
2828 state holiday that falls on a Saturday or Sunday is entitled to
2929 compensatory time off at the rate of one hour for each hour worked
3030 on the holiday.
3131 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2009.
